What Should You Compare Between ELEGOO, Anycubic, Prusa, Sovol, and Voron 3D Printers?
Summary
The biggest split is whether the printer arrives ready to print or you build it. ELEGOO's Centauri Carbon arrives assembled and calibrated, with a full enclosure. Prusa sells the same MK4S assembled or as a kit, and the Sovol SV08 ships 90% assembled. Voron is an open-source design with published plans and a bill of materials, and you source the parts and build it yourself.

Printers that arrive ready
ELEGOO says the Centauri Carbon ships assembled, calibrated, and tested. It has a hardened steel nozzle and a fully enclosed chamber, and it's built to handle carbon-fiber filament.
Anycubic's Kobra S1 is also a fully enclosed CoreXY printer, though its product page doesn't say how assembled it arrives. The Combo adds an ACE Pro unit for four colors, and two units give you eight. Anycubic makes resin printers too. The Photon Mono M7 Pro has a 223 × 126 × 230 mm build volume and was listed at $562 on September 23, 2026.
Kits and self-sourced builds
Prusa sells the MK4S assembled or as a kit, $270 apart at list price. The MMU3 multi-material unit and an enclosure are available as add-ons.
Voron is a design, not a manufacturer. Its CAD files, STLs, and manuals are all on GitHub, and its documentation says it contains everything you need to go from zero to a working printer. Kits come from outside suppliers, and Voron doesn't endorse any particular vendor. There are five printers in the lineup. The smallest, the Voron Zero, has a 120 mm print area and costs $400–$600 to build, and a V2.4 runs $1,500–$1,900.
Sovol's SV08 is based on the Voron 2.4, with open-source hardware, software, and firmware. Sovol says a Voron 2.4 kit takes more than 30 hours to build and the SV08 goes together in about an hour.
