A plasma cutter parts conductive metal with an electric arc and compressed air, which is why it is the cheaper tool for steel plate while a laser stays the tool for wood, acrylic and thin sheet; our guide Laser cutter vs. plasma cutter sets the two side by side. The machines on this page are sold by Arccaptain on its own US store, arccaptain.com, and are listed from the thinnest rated clean cut to the thickest. The name, photo and price are Arccaptain's, taken from Arccaptain's product feed or product page (last checked October 23, 2026), and the specs are as Arccaptain lists them; items that are out of stock are left off.
Two thickness figures matter: the clean-cut rating is the thickness the maker says cuts with a usable edge, the severance rating is the most it will part at all, and both drop when the machine runs on a 110–120 V outlet instead of 220–240 V. Every unit here needs an air compressor; Arccaptain's pages quote 60–90 PSI and 4–5 CFM for most models. Bundles, consumable kits and spare torches are not listed here; Arccaptain's product page shows them.
