How Much Does a Laser Engraver or Cutter Really Cost to Set Up?

Published · By the Laser Lineup editors

Summary

The machine alone runs from a few hundred dollars for a blue diode to more than $10,000 for some fiber lasers. Exhaust and safety gear, project accessories, and software and consumables come on top. A 20W WeCreat Vision Basic Pack with the fume extractor and Rotary Pro bought separately, plus LightBurn Core, came to $1,887 at U.S. prices on September 23, 2026.

Price bands by laser type

xTool's buying guide says laser engravers run from a few hundred to several thousand dollars. Blue lasers are the cheapest, fiber lasers can pass $10,000, and CO2 machines cost more than blue diodes and, in xTool's words, need water cooling. That applies to glass-tube CO2 machines; RF-tube CO2 machines are generally air-cooled.

On September 23, 2026, the enclosed WeCreat Vision diode machine was $1,040 for the 20W Basic Pack and the 45W Vision Pro was $1,910 for its Basic Pack, both at sale prices. xTool's F1 Ultra, which combines diode and fiber lasers, was $2,999 for the machine alone.

Beyond the machine

Costs outside the machine fall into three groups.

The $1,887 figure above is $1,040 + $499 + $249 + $99. WeCreat also sells the Vision as a CleanAir Pack with the fume extractor included for $1,440, so what comes standard depends on the machine and the bundle.
