The Creality Falcon2 40W Costs $639. Is That Everything You Need to Get Started?

Published · By the Laser Lineup editors

Summary

No. The Falcon2 40W is an open-frame diode laser with a 400 × 415 mm work area, and it is an FDA Class 4 product. Something to contain the beam and a way to get smoke out of the room are separate purchases. Creality itself sells a "Protection Kit" that adds an enclosure and air purifier, priced at $1,299.

The Protection Kit

The $1,299 Protection Kit page has no written description. The image caption is the only guide to what's in the box, and it lists a metal grid, a laser enclosure, an air purifier, and wood sheets. The page never says the enclosure makes the machine Class 1. The laser Creality does sell as Class 1 on the same site is the Falcon A1, which comes enclosed.

Two different cutting claims

The page's description says the machine cuts "20mm wood or 30mm acrylic" in one pass. The bullet points in the product listing say "20mm cork and 0.15mm stainless steel."
